Prof. Claus Vögele, PhD, Dipl.-Psych., CPsychol, AFBPsS
Claus Vögele graduated in Psychology (Dipl.-Psych.) at Landau University in 1983, obtained his PhD from the University of Hamburg in 1988 and his professorial qualification (Habilitation) from the University of Marburg in 1997. Over the last 25 years he has held a number of academic posts at both German and British Universities (St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London; School of Psychology, University of Birmingham; Department of Psychology, University of Marburg; Department of Psychology, University of Luton; School of Human and Life Sciences, Roehampton University, London) before joining the University of Luxemburg in February 2010 as Professor of Clinical and Health Psychology. In addition, he holds numerous honorary appointments with universities in Germany, Switzerland and the UK. He is consultant editor for over 50 national and international journals and editorial board member of three international journals. He is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (UK) and currently Chair of the Division of Health Psychology in the German Psychological Society. A chartered Clinical and Health Psychologist he has been practising for the last 20 years and has held a senior position in the National Health Service (UK).
