The ‘Criminal Law Group’ maintains excellent relations with several international research networks. There is long-standing and close collaboration with ECLAN (European Criminal Law Academic Network) and the AIDP (Association Internationale de Droit Pénal). This fruitful cooperation with ECLAN and the AIDP has led to the organisation of several international conferences, seminars, expert meetings and PhD seminars at the University of Luxembourg.
More recently, an international research network on criminal and quasi-criminal enforcements mechanisms (in shortCQEM) has been created, encompassing a comparative, historical and interdisciplinary approach. The members of the network meet at least once a year to discuss relevant topics in this field.
In addition, an interdisciplinary research cooperation with ELI (European Law Institute) and Max Planck Institute – Luxembourg (MPI) has been recently established within the research project "Prevention and settlement of conflicts of exercise of jurisdiction in criminal law".
Furthermore, there is strong collaboration with a large number of colleagues, research institutions and universities. As a result of this strong and active collaboration, several PhD students enjoy joint supervision by a colleague from one of the partner universities.
Finally, the Criminal Law Group maintains close contact with organisations of practitioners such as the general prosecution service of Luxembourg, the Ministry of Justice of Luxembourg and the European Court of Justice.
Criminal Law Group researchers participate in several other projects conducted by external partners. In particular:
