Elisabeth Holl joined the Institute for Health and Behavior within the Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences as a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. André Melzer. She works in the research group Health Promotion and Aggression Prevention led by Prof. Georges Steffgen.

She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Cologne and her Master’s degree in Media and Instructional Psychology at the University of Technology in Chemnitz. Her Master’s thesis dealt with the psychophysiological measuring of reactions in the real and virtual world.

In her doctoral project, she investigates the connection between real and virtual world behavior focusing on human interaction, with a special emphasis on empathy and morality in video games.

Among other fields, her research interests are the effects of and within video games (e.g., stereotypes, aggression, [anti]social behavior) as well as immersion and (breaks in) presence.
