Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Helmut Willems is professor for general sociology and youth sociology at the University of Luxembourg and acting director of the research unit INSIDE. He is also director of the Institute for Research on Generations and Family and head of the research group "Youth Research". His main research interests concern:

  • sociology of childhood and youth
  • youth policy and youth work
  • political participation
  • migration and integration
  • citizenship education
  • youth movements and social conflicts
  • violence and racism
  • scientific social reporting on children
  • youth and families.
