Ivonne Weichold is an architect, urbanist and currently a doctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg. Her PhD research breaks open the duality of thinking in urban and rural environments in order to investigate the intertwined role of agricultural land, production and urban planning in wealthy economies. 

She studied architecture and art history at Technical University of Berlin and Delft University of Technology and graduated with a degree in architecture (Dipl.-Ing.) and art history/culture and technique (B.A.). She is a licensed architect in Germany (Member of the Chamber of Architects Berlin). Professional work experience she has achieved as an architect and urbanist in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Japan over the past ten years. Next, to her professional experience as a practising architect, she gained valuable teaching and research experience as a Research Associate at the Institute at the Brunswick University of Technology and as a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg.
