Jennifer Dusdal is Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Institute of Education & Society at the University of Luxembourg. She is also Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Leibniz Center for Science and Society (LCSS), Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany. Her research expertise lies at the intersection of higher education research, science studies, and bibliometrics. Her specific topics of interest include higher education systems, institutions and organizations, international collaborative networks, political reform and societal change processes, higher education governance and evaluation as well as science capacity-building and production.
She received her doctorate in Sociology from the University of Luxembourg in April 2017 (grade: „excellent"). Her monograph Welche Organisationsformen produzieren Wissenschaft. Zum Verhältnis von Hochschule und Wissenschaft in Deutschland was published by Campus Verlag in 2018 and was awarded with the Ulrich-Teichler-Prize for outstanding dissertation of the German Association of Higher Education Research (GfHf).
She holds a B.A. in Social Sciences and an M.A. in Science and Society, both from the Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany. She completed research stays at The Pennsylvania State University (USA) and the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (IFQ) in Berlin, Germany.
Jennifer participates in activities of the LCSS Graduate School and supervises doctoral students at the University of Luxembourg. She is an associated researcher of the Doctoral Training Unit (DTU) on Data-driven Computational Modelling and Applications (DRIVEN). Since 2013, Jennifer has taught in several interdisciplinary M.A. programs. In Luxembourg, she is teaching in the M.A. Social Sciences and Educational Sciences (MASSES), and the M.A. Management und Coaching im Bildungs- und Sozialwesen (MAMACO).
She is a member of the Science Policy discussion group at the LCSS and the Working Group "Science and Higher Education" in the Section "Science and Technology Research" of the German Sociological Association. Further, she was an advisor for educational accreditation processes, a member of the selection committee of scholarship holders of the Hans-Boeckler-Foundation, and has represented junior scholars in university committees.
