Luxembourg Political Science Assocation
Grounded in 2008, the Luxembourg Political Science Association (LuxPol) is a member of International Political Science Association (IPSA). It aims at promoting in Luxembourg the development of political sciences (political history, political philosophy, comparative politics, public policy, political sociology, etc...).The General Secretary of the Assocation is Philippe Poirier.
The activities of the Association include to:
- encourage and develop the study of political sciences in Luxembourg, in the Grand Region and in Europe,
- facilitate the diffusion of information and ideas bringing political sciences forwards,
- organise conferences, meetings and exhibitions in order to stimulate exchanges of views on political sciences and related issues,
- publish journals, monographs and video contributions to political sciences,
- represent Luxembourg in international meetings on political sciences,
- get interested in any other topic that is relevant in achieving its social goal.

The Association organized the annual conference of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) in Luxembourg, March 18-20, 2010, on the topic: Is there a European Model of Governance? A comparative perspective. It was supported in this endeavour by the European Commission, the Government of Luxembourg, the Fondation Alphonse Weicker and the Fondation européenne des sciences politiques. In April 2013, the Luxembourg Political Science Association, organized the 5ème congrès des associations francophones de science politique, Political Regimes and their Transformations in the XXI century.
Honorary members of the Association include, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, President of European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the Chambre des Députés, Mars Di Bartolomeo, President of the Conseil d’Etat, President of the Court of Auditors, Marc Gengler, honorary Prime Minister Jacques Santer.
