Agnieszka Czeluscinska-Peczkowska joined the Research Group “Self-regulation and Health” at the Institute for Health and Behaviour, Research Unit INSIDE as a FNR/AFR funded PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Claus Vögele in March 2014. Agnieszka studied Psychology and obtained a Master’s Degree with a major in Social Clinical Psychology from the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2010. The title of her Master’s thesis is: “Sexuality of adults with autism”.

Her research interests include:

  • body image satisfaction and sexual functioning
  • attentional processing of threat-relevant stimuli
  • cognitive bias modification

In her doctoral project, entitled “Attentional Bias to Body- and Sexually-Relevant Stimuli”, Agnieszka investigates attentional processing of body- and sexually-relevant stimuli in normal population with various levels of body and sexual dissatisfaction, and in clinical population with sexual dysfunctions. Directly contrasting stimuli related to body image dissatisfaction (images of one’s own body) with erotic stimuli will give new insight into the possible mediating role of distraction mechanisms at the interface of body dissatisfaction and sexuality.
