Finanzielle Beihilfen der MengStudien

Es handelt sich hierbei um eine finanzielle Unterstützung, die der luxemburgische Staat Studierenden gewährt, die für weiterführende Studien, höhere Studien oder ein Hochschulstudium eingeschrieben sind und die eine der folgenden Bedingungen erfüllen:

• sie haben die luxemburgische Staatsbürgerschaft und sind in Luxemburg ansässig;
• sie haben die Staatsbürgerschaft eines Mitgliedsstaates der Europäischen Union, eines Mitgliedsstaates der Europäischen Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft oder der Schweiz, sind in Luxemburg ansässig und haben den Status des Arbeitnehmers oder des selbstständigen Erwerbstätigen, sind Familienmitglied einer Person mit dem obengenannten Status oder haben ein ständiges Aufenthaltsrecht erlangt;
• sie sind Drittstaatsangehöriger oder staatenlos, sind seit mindestens 5 Jahren in Luxemburg ansässig und verfügen über einen vom luxemburgischen Bildungsministerium (Ministère de l’Education nationale et de la Formation professionnelle) anerkannten Sekundarschulabschluss;
• sie haben den Status des politischen Flüchtlings in Luxemburg und sind in Luxemburg ansässig;
• sie sind Kinder eines luxemburgischen Staatsbürgers oder eines Staatsbürgers eines Mitgliedsstaates der Europäischen Union, eines Mitgliedsstaates der Europäischen Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft oder der Schweiz der seit mindestens fünf Jahren ununterbrochen in Luxemburg berufstätig ist und dies zu mindestens 50% der gesetzlichen oder gesamtarbeitsvertraglichen Arbeitszeit zum Zeitpunkt des Antrags.

Diese Staatliche Studienbeihilfe besteht in der Regel aus einem Teil Darlehen und einem Teil Stipendium. Der Gesamtbetrag beläuft sich auf 13.000 pro akademischem Jahr. Die Studienbeihilfe ist nicht mit eventuellen Studienbeihilfen im Wohnland des Studierenden kumulierbar.

Zusätzlich können Einschreibegebühren in der Höhe von maximal 3.700 übernommen werden.

Erasmus-Stipendum

Wenn Sie als Erasmus-Studiernde(r) an einer Einrichtung außerhalb der Großregion im Ausland studieren, erhalten Sie ein Erasmus-Stipendium.

Mobilitätsfonds

Wenn Sie als Bachelor-Studierende/r ein Studiensemester an einer Einrichtung außerhalb der Großregion als Nicht-Erasmus-Student absolvieren, können Sie einen Zuschuss aus dem Mobilitätsfonds erhalten.

Guillaume Dupaix International Scholarship

The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research are funding a talent support programme. The Guillaume Dupaix International Master’s Scholarship aims to attract high-achieving international students who wish to follow a master’s programme at the University of Luxembourg, or international exchange students who wish to pursue one or two semester of studies at the University of Luxembourg.

Eligibility criteria

• International applicants both from EU and non-EU countries applying to a master’s degree
• Exchange students from partner universities outside Europe
• Excellent academic performance during undergraduate studies
• Non-beneficiaries of Luxembourg’s CEDIES

Eligible programmes

This scholarship is offered to students from all study programmes opened to exchange students within the agreement between their institution and the University of Luxembourg. Master candidates can visit the webpages of each faculty to learn about eligible Master programmes: 

• Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF)
• Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE)
• Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM)

Financial support

The stipend amounts to 5.146€ per semester and is paid in two instalments per academic year at the beginning of each semester for a maximum of two years (two semesters for exchange students). Payment is subject to performance evaluation and may be withheld, for example, in the case of academic misconduct, poor results or withdrawal from the master's programme. Tuition fees are not included in the scholarship for regular Master students, exchange students are exempted from tuition fees at the University of Luxembourg. The scholarship cannot be cumulated with any other type of grant financed by the Luxembourg government, or a similar scholarship funded by a private sponsors.

Application procedure for Master students

Applying for a scholarship is a two-step process.

1. In a first stage, applicants must apply to a Master's degree through the online admission portal, please click here
2. Once the application to the master’s degree is completed, applicants meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned above can apply to the scholarship following this link

Applicants must provide the following documents to be considered for the scholarship:

• CV
• Motivation letter
• Two letters of academic or professional recommendation with contact details
• A copy of the email received by the University of Luxembourg confirming the successful submission of your master’s application (If you have applied to more than one master’s programme, please attach one confirmation email per master’s programme application)

Applicants are selected based on:

• high academic achievements
• originality and motivation of their application
• positive feedback from the recommendation letters

Please note that due to the high volume of applications received, only selected applicants will be notified, at the latest by 2 June 2023.

Application deadline: 24 April 2023

The selection of applicants for the scholarship is an ongoing process taking place during the admission period. Outstanding applicants may also be selected before the application deadline.

Application procedure for exchange students

Exchange students will be informed about their eligibility for the scholarship and the application procedure directly by the International Relations Office of their home university.
