Instrument Care
The Instrument Care Team supports the researchers with all the topics related to laboratory equipment to ensure a solid foundation for their scientific experiments. Proper equipment life cycle management is a critical element for each laboratory. Prior the installation of new equipment or relocation of an equipment the team is making sure in cooperation with different internal stakeholders like e.g., IT department, infrastructure department and safety office that all technical and safety installation requirements will be fulfilled.
The team takes care of the coordination with the supplier: by organizing the shipments and installation itself, the initial training and takes care of the inventory and all documentation. Once installed, the Instrument Care Team helps to keep the equipment in peak conditions by organizing all onsite interventions of the suppliers & manufacturers of the scientific equipment including among other calibrations, inspections, preventive and curative maintenance visits, repairs and trainings.
In addition, the Instrument Care Team is able to salvage many laboratory equipment by performing its own repair work. The team is also in charge of monitoring all critical equipment parameters. The Instrument Care Team’s services are optimized to increase the longevity of every equipment, while reducing downtime and while protecting the quality of research results.
