About the Project
The main objective of this activity is focused on prototyping and testing of advanced digital compensation techniques to minimise linear and non-linear effects/distortions in satellite systems employing multiple carriers over HPAs in transparent payloads. The validation is intended either via real satellite transponder capacity or via realistic satellite channel emulation. This activity is motivated by earlier works that indicate compensation techniques can provide a gain of about 1 dB in total degradation
The expected outcomes will be the hardware implementation of a modem prototype for testing the effectiveness of advanced pre-distortion techniques (at the transmitter side, i.e., the gateway) and equalization solutions (at the receiver side, i.e., user terminal) in real end-to-end satellite communication link.
SnT would be involved in implementing and testing data Predistortion and centroid based equalization methods.
