Erica holds the position of Acting Director of Administration.

Previously, she held the position as Head of Operations at the LCSB, after 4 years of research, 10 of Marketing, and 5 of management consulting.

At LCSB Erica was responsible of running the operations, and of driving the development of the organisation. One of her main objectives was to thrive valorisation of scientific innovations into biomedical and ICT applications, through the boost of entrepreneurship, the creation of spin-off companies or licensing of intellectual property.

Erica combines science and business related experience. She started her professional development in scientific research at the University of Ghent (Belgium), at the University of Milan (Italy), and at the USDA in Maryland (USA), and then continued with a career in business, working 10 years in marketing at European level within the pharmaceutical industry. At Baxter Healthcare, Erica has been in charge of managing several businesses of this company throughout the western European countries. She has developed the EU strategy, the business plans, EU marketing plans, and budgeting for the lines she was in charge of. Moreover, she has been evaluating licensing opportunities, and driven projects for marketing and sales excellence analysis. The oncology business has been one of her major areas of focus.

At PwC, Erica has driven strategy and market assessment projects for clients in the molecular diagnostic and diagnostic sector; she has worked on projects involving regional and economic development, hospital management and fundraising, and carried out assignments for leading NGOs and Foundations actives in the Vaccines space. Erica has carried out assignments aiming at boosting development and sustainability of European cluster and bioclusters for the EU Commission, and for other international clients.

Erica graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Milan, Italy, and holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine of the University of Ghent, Belgium.
