She has a background in speech recognition and speech perception and production. She hold a master’s degree in Experimental and Clinical Linguistics from the Potsdam University, Germany, with a thesis on Parkinson’s Disease Detection Using Phonetic Features; and joint master’s degree in Language and Communication Technologies from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and University of Trento, Italy, with a thesis on A deep learning approach to spoken proficiency scoring for non-native speakers.

She has continued her interests in Germany and Italy by working in research labs (Laboratory Phonology, SpeechTek, Fairlab, & Phonology & Phonetics) to become more familiar with the different aspects of language and cognition. She was engaged as a research assistant at the Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS), Berlin, Germany, working on analysis of whispered speech, and research assistant at the SpeechTek lab, Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), Trento, Italy, working on improvement of speech recognition system for detecting mispronunciation of second-language learners.

Currently she is a PhD student at the University of Luxembourg and working on the effects of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases on handwriting and trying to design models to detect the levels of these disorders using state-of-the-art deep learning methods.

More information regarding her past and current projects and full list of publications can be found on her personal page.
