The Luxembourg edition of the Act In Space Hackathon wrapped up on Friday with the announcement of the LunaLab’s challenge winner. Congratulations to 41Space!

41Space is a multidisciplinary team whose members include Margot Gabel, Gabriel Garcia, Sumit Goski, Daniela Ignatova and Julien Stamerra. They are also very international, coming together from four countries - the Netherlands, France, India and Luxembourg.

The LunaLab challenge, headed by Prof. Miguel Olivares Mendez, asked teams to tackle a real-world problem of designing a lunar rover to find ice on the moon. Eleven teams participated, and 41Space achieved the winning design. In recognition for their ingenuity and hard work they will be receiving a DIY Kit from SnT, to assemble the lunar rover they designed, be invited to Luxembourg to build and test the rover in the LunaLab in Q2 2021 with travel expenses sponsored by Gradel, and receive 2000€ as a cash prize from the Luxembourg Space Agency.

Act In Space is a global event bringing together space innovators from around the world with unique challenges hosted by partner organisations. Designed for students but open to everyone, the objective is to foster entrepreneurship, encourage start-up creation and promote the use of space technologies and space acquired data to change citizen’s lives, to boost employment, and protect our planet. Act In Space was created by the CNES & ESA, and the 2020 edition was the fourth installment.
