Christine van Stiphoudt is a doctoral researcher originally from Germany. Her academic background is in Engineering. She received her Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Environmental Engineering at RWTH Aachen University after a stay abroad at the University of Iceland. In her Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Sustainable Energy Supply, she gained comprehensive knowledge in the extraction of raw materials for use as an energy carrier, their processing and distribution as well as energy efficient usage in industry and buildings and economically related aspects.

Christine acquired working experience during her studies in the private sector and in research projects. She gained insides into the energy management of industrial companies, analysing companies’ energy data and the tendering of energy. Moreover, she worked in a research group for active energy distribution grids at the intersection of renewable energies and sector coupling. After completing her Master's degree, she continued her work in a research group on building automation.

In her current position at the FINATRAX research group, Christine works within the Kopernikus project SynErgie, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research on the development of a market platform to enable an automated and standardised coupling of energy flexibility providers with energy flexibility consumers. Her research interest is the interaction and data exchange of energy systems and markets with a focus on automation and digitalisation.
