Van-Dinh Nguyen joined the Signal Processing and Satellite Communications research group (SIGCOM) as a Research Associate in 2019, headed by Prof. Björn Ottersten and he will be reporting to Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas. Nguyen received Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Technology - Electronics Engineering from Soongsil University (SSU), South Korea in 2018. From Sept. 2018 - Aug. 2019, he was a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Scholar at SSU. He was a Postdoctoral Visiting Scholar with the University of Technology Sydney, AUS (July-August 2018) and a Ph.D. Visiting Scholar with Queen’s University Belfast, U.K. (June–July 2015 and August 2016).

His current research interests include full-duplex communications, fog/edge computing, IoT networks, 5G network resource allocations, cross-layer network optimization and distributed machine learning for wireless networks. He has authored or co-authored in 40 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings.  

He is an Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society and IEEE Communications Letters. He has also served as Technical Program Committee (TPC) chair/TPC Member/Session Chair for about 15 conferences/workshops, and reviewer of many IEEE journals and conferences like IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications.
