Bachelor en Cultures Européennes - Études françaises

Language Requirements

The Bachelor en Cultures Européennes is a trilingual programme that actively promotes multilingualism and code-switching between languages. Although you can apply and complete the programme with bilingual combinations of French and German or French and English, we encourage you to take this opportunity to learn and study in a third language.

Step 1

Verified Language Skills in French

French proficiency

In order to successfully navigate the Études françaises, you need to have a proficiency level of at least C1 in French (under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

In case you have not obtained your school leaving qualification in Luxembourg or a francophone country, you can increase your chances of being admitted by adding the following certificates to your application:

  • TCF (Test de connaissance du français)
  • DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française)

You can take the exams necessary to obtain these certificates at either the National Institute of Languages or the French Institute in Luxembourg. Pay attention to the dates for the exams so you do not miss them!

Step 2

Verified Language Skills in English and German

Because the common curriculum of our programme (60 ECTS) is trilingual, you will need:

  • verified language skills (B2) in a second language (English or German);
  • an A2 level in a third language. (English or German)
