Interdisciplinary Space Master

Admissions requirements

Candidates for admission must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, mathematics, electrical or aerospace engineering (academic), computer science, or other natural science or equivalent experience
  • Grades of 85% or higher in their technical courses
  • Toefl (only if you are not from a native English speaking country) with a total score of 100 or above and no score less than 25 in any single skill or B2 (comprehension and speaking) in CEFR system

Experts with several years of experience working in the aerospace, mechanical, electrical, industrial, or robotics engineering sectors looking to re-skill themselves would also be eligible to enrol in the programme.

Note: To ensure that all students have the required background, we are considering a summer school to give those students without strong programming or math skills the background they will need to succeed. 


The Interdisciplinary Space Master is open to 20 students

If you are interested, we invite you to send the following documents in PDF format to the address:

  • a copy of the diploma or the certificate of achievement (with apostille or double legalisation)
  • a copy of all the transcripts obtained for the diploma (with apostille or double legalisation)
  • a proof of proficiency in English at B2 level (compulsory) (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - CEFR) or TOEFL with a total score of 100 or above and no score less than 25 in any single skill if you are not a native English speaker
  • a motivation letter
  • and two letters of reference

The first two documents above must be provided with a certified translation if they are written in a language other than French, German or English.


If you qualify, you will be given a conditional enrollment. 
Please note that enrollment will only be confirmed when the validated paper documents are received at the University of Luxembourg.

  • Decisions for early admission will be made 1 March 2020 for applications received on or before that date
  • Decisions for regular admission will be made on 1 May 2020 for applications received on or before that date

Note: students without an EU passport will need to request a student visa. The visa application procedure may take up to four months.
