Master in Information and Computer Sciences

Target group and admission criteria

We are looking for students with a Bachelor or equivalent diploma degree in computer science or relevant field, with good mathematical knowledge and with the motivation to study in a research-oriented field. The MICS is completely taught in English. There will be no entry examination since the first semester acts as orientation semester where the student has to demonstrate his/her competences. The eligibility of both Bachelor/Diploma degrees in other related fields and other degrees are to be decided individually by the director of studies of the master programme.

Admission requirements

The following requirements must be met to be able to successfully complete the studies.

  • Language: level B2 in English
  • Academic Background
    • The student needs to have a basic education in computer science as given in a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. This includes e.g.:
      • mathematical foundations as given in (Linear) Algebra, Analysis, etc.
      • good programming skills in at least one programming language
      • comprehension of abstract subjects
      • basic understanding of computer science
    • There is no need for work experience, but it can become a plus for a student to share industrial experiences.
