Curriculum

The curriculum was developed by the ADA Chair in Financial Law (Inclusive Finance) in cooperation with ADA to meet the continuous need for talented and well-trained specialists in the growing field of inclusive finance.

The programme combines traditional financial law with inclusive finance and development policy subjects.

 

 

 

So far close to 170 professionals from 57 countries (e.g. Armenia, Belgium, Benin, Bolivia, Brasil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Comoros, Congo, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Lesotho, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Malawi, Marocco, Mauritius, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Tchad, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan Zamia, Zimbabwe,..) have benefited from the programme.

Entering its 8th year in 2024, the programme is aimed at regulators, intermediaries and other inclusive finance organisations.  

Possible topics of the 2024 programme:
•    Performance Measurement and Management
•    Sustainable Inclusive Finance
•    FinTech & Financial Inclusion
•    RegTech & Financial Inclusion
•    Microfinance
•    Risk Management

 

Teaching staff includes leading academics from the University of Luxembourg and other universities, development policy experts from ADA and the European Investment Bank Group, as well as industry specialists with extensive experience and networks in their subject areas. Participants will be in close contact with teaching staff and have the opportunity to meet seasoned professionals from regional, development and private banks, law and consultancy firms, as well as investment firms.

The curriculum taught full-time over a period of two weeks. During this short but intense period participants from around the world will come together to work on cutting-edge topics relating to inclusive finance, each of them with their respective knowledge.

The physical programme in 2024 is planned to participants from all over the world. All participants motivated and from different backgrounds.

Applicants need to be able to demonstrate an interest in inclusive finance, for example through previous work experience or a Bachelor / Master’s thesis or other publication in the field.

 

Prerequisites & admissions

To apply, please provide us with the following documents:

  • Completed application xls form

  • Letter of motivation
  • Letter of recommendation (from your employer, from one of our partners or former lecturers or former participants)
  • Copy of your diplomas (min. Bachelor level 180ECTS)
  • Copy of your valid passport
  • Copy of your language certificate (English min. B2 level)

Prerequisites to participate in the course:

  • Minimum Bachelor level (180 ECTS) or 3 academic years equivalent
  • English (B2 level)
  • An interest in inclusive finance by justifying experience or publications in the field

 

Number of participants and fees

The physical program in 2024 is limited to a maximum of 25 participants from all over the world. All motivated and from different backgrounds.

physical tuition fee:       1.000 EUR per person (payable before the course)

Candidates for the course taking place in January 2024 are selected by the course director in cooperation with ADA and the EIB.
