100 years of Engineering Education in Luxembourg

This year marks a centenary: 100 years of engineering education in Luxembourg! Luxembourg's first "Cours technique du supérieur" was held in September 1916, and marks the launch of higher education in this country.

The University of Luxembourg will celebrate this significant anniversary, with a lecture series commencing 20 September 2016 on the Kirchberg campus, and culminating in a night of festivities on 7 October 2016 on the Belval campus. 

Lecture series: from 20 September to 4 October 2016 at 17.30 on Kirchberg Campus

From 20 September to 4 October 2016, five renowned experts will share their viewpoints about the future of engineering in Luxembourg. The lectures will be held in Luxembourgish.

Closing Ceremony: 7 October 2016, 18.00, Belval Campus

On 7 October 2016, we will officially celebrate a century of engineering education in Luxembourg. This ceremony will be a great opportunity to look back on 100 years of history but also to shape the future of engineering education in Luxembourg. 

In the presence of Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Hereditary Grand Duke, the Minister Delegate for Higher Education and Research, Mr Marc Hansen and the former Minister of Culture, Higher Education and Research, Mrs Erna Hennicot-Schoepges, Patron for this event.
