On 23 May 2012 the American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (AMCHAM) and the University signed a cooperation agreement to set up an internship program in Luxembourg for students from the University of Luxembourg’s partner institutions in the US.

The University of Luxembourg will promote the program to its partner institutions, and the main role of AMCHAM will be to inform its member companies about this upcoming opportunity and encourage them to recruit trainees from the US.

The University of Luxembourg has signed inter-university agreements with nine partner institutions in the United States, including Miami University, University of Northern Arizona, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University at Buffalo (The State University of New York) and Columbia University. The planned internship program aims to attract even more students from these partner universities by offering them a professional experience in addition to their study period at the University of Luxembourg.

The agreement was signed on Campus Limpertsberg by the chairman and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg, Mr Paul-Michael Schonenberg, and the University of Luxembourg President, Prof. Rolf Tarrach, in the presence of the University’s vice-president for organisation and international relations, Prof. Franck Leprévost, of several representatives from the US Embassy in Luxembourg including the Public Affairs Officer Lou Fintor and the Political Officer Ashley Bagwell, as well as many representatives of both partner institutions.
