The Government has decided to nominate Mr Yves Elsen as the third Chairman of the Board of Governors of the University of Luxembourg. He will complete the mandate of Mr Marc Jaeger who has asked the Ministry of Higher Education and Research for an end to his mandate, for personal reasons. He took up this function in February 2012.

“I am delighted to have accompanied the University in its remarkable evolution” stated Marc Jaeger. During his mandate, the University has embraced both continuity and change notably with the arrival of a new President, the first phase of the move to Belval Campus and the launch of new projects, in particular in the fields of contemporary history and logistics. On his departure from the Board of Governors, Mr Jaeger wishes the University continued success in its projects and will continue to follow its development with great interest and enthusiasm.

Mr Elsen, Engineer from ETH Zurich with an MBA from INSEAD Fontainebleau, Managing Partner and CEO of HITEC Luxembourg S.A., will leave the Chair of the Fonds National de Recherche for that of the Board of Governors of the University.

The University of Luxembourg thanks Mr Jaeger for his dedication and knows that it has a loyal friend in him. The University is sure to find in Mr Elsen a successor who will continue to support it in its national and international development, and in line with the interests of the country.
