Dr Elisabeth Letellier received the Legs Kanning 2015 Award

At the 13th Legs Kanning conference organised by the Action LIONS Vaincre le Cancer and the Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL), Dr Elisabeth Letellier, a researcher within the Life Sciences Research Unit (LSRU) was awarded the “Prix Legs Kanning 2015” for her work on colon cancer. During the conference, which took place in the premises of the BIL on 17 November 2015, Dr Elisabeth Letellier from the LSRU gave a presentation entitled: “Colon cancer: from molecular diagnostic to personalised medicine”. She explained the underlying molecular mechanisms and explained recent advances in prevention and treatment of colon cancer. The jury congratulated Dr Elisabeth Letellier for her tremendous work in cancer research and encouraged her to continue working in that direction. The “Prix Legs Kanning” honours the scientific achievement of Luxembourgish researchers in cancer research. It is organised by the LIONS Clubs Luxembourg, which created in 1976 the “Action Vaincre le Cancer” in order to fight cancer by supporting cancer research, inform the public about cancer, as well as financially support patients with financial difficulties.
