It is with great sadness that the Board of Governors, the Rectorate and the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education announce the passing of Professor Sabine Krolak-Schwerdt on Tuesday 12 December.

Sabine Krolak-Schwerdt joined the University of Luxembourg in 2008 where she held a professorship in psychological and educational assessment. She was head of the Institute of Teacher Professionalisation and Psychology of Education, member of many scientific review boards and programme committees and chairperson of the European Association for Data Science (EuADS).

Sabine Krolak-Schwerdt was a researcher and lecturer who, because of her scientific expertise and dedication, was highly esteemed in Luxembourg, as well as in various universities and research institutions throughout Europe. At the University of Luxembourg, she advanced important research projects, i.e. in the field of pedagogical diagnostics, motivation and the evaluation of cognitive processes in learning and teaching.

For the University, her death represents a significant loss. She will be remembered with great respect and admiration. To her family and friends, we offer our sincere condolences and the expression of our deepest sympathies.
